Mongolia: Adoption Requirements

Age
The age requirement for Mongolia is that each applicant be at least 30 years old and no more than 50 years old at the time your dossier is registered with Mongolia. Generally there should be no more than 45 years age difference between the mother and the child although this rule is flexible.

Finances
Mongolia requires that a family’s income can support the addition of a child.

Children
Mongolia privately says they do not want more than 6 children in the home, including the child you will adopt. Referrals of boys and girls are available, although referrals for girls do take much longer (2 to 3 years best guess at this time). Siblings are occasionally available, although rare.

Marital Status
Married couples may apply to adopt from Mongolia.

Faith
In accordance with Small World’s mission statement, our Mongolia program is open to Christian families only.
